“Through his research and involvement with the renowned Gallup Strength training program established in 1930, Brown focuses on utilizing each player’s unique qualities within the team,” explained Shahriar Nafees, BCB’s cricket operations manager, during a media briefing.
In addition to Brown, the board is planning to bring in sports psychologist Phil Jauncey, who previously worked with the Tigers in 2014. Jauncey, a classical psychologist, will concentrate on the individual aspect of the players. The BCB intends to provide such support throughout the year as needed.
Nafees emphasized that the involvement of multiple psychologists should not lead to conflicts, drawing an analogy with fitness trainers and physiotherapists who work independently to improve the players’ fitness levels. He expressed confidence in maintaining coordination among the different professionals.
Regarding the possibility of a permanent psychologist until the upcoming ODI World Cup in India, scheduled for October this year, Nafees refrained from commenting on the matter.
