New Role for Sriram

Sridharan Sriram has been named the technical consultant for the Bangladesh cricket team ahead of the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup in India. The former Indian all-rounder is set to join the squad at the start of their World Cup campaign in Guwahati.

Prior Experience

This isn’t Sriram’s first involvement with the Bangladesh team; he previously served as the technical consultant during the Asia Cup T20 in the UAE, the tri-nation series in New Zealand, and the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia in 2022.

A Diverse Career

Sriram, who played eight ODIs for India, also has coaching experience. He served as the assistant coach for the Australian cricket team from 2018 to 2022. Prior to that, from 2015 to 2018, he worked as a consultant coach for Cricket Australia.

Upcoming Preparations

As the Bangladesh team gears up for the World Cup, they are scheduled to travel to Guwahati for two practice matches against Sri Lanka and England on September 29 and October 2, respectively. Afterward, they will head to Dharamshala for their tournament opener against Afghanistan on October 7.
