Bangladesh won against New Zealand XI by 26 runs, thanks to Rishad Hossain’s outstanding performance. Batting at number seven, he scored a crucial half-century with 87 runs off 53 balls, including 11 fours and four sixes. Rishad, who also took three wickets, shared that his main focus was to adapt to New Zealand’s cold and windy conditions and survive on the wicket.

“Firstly, the cold conditions here, we came two or three days earlier and tried to adapt to it. When the match began I was not thinking about the weather much,” said Rishad.

“I’ve tried to adapt to the condition and in terms of batting, I have got the opportunity to bat for a long time after a long time. Tried to score run being on the wicket,”

“In cold conditions, I always tried to keep myself warm. I had this thing in mind that I might have to bowl anytime. Felt a little uncomfortable due to the cold but everything is fine,” he added.

Bangladesh is set to play their inaugural ODI.
