Bangladesh won their first T20I match against New Zealand in the series, winning by five wickets. They also achieved their first-ever win in the three-match ODI series.

“A golden opportunity to win the series against one of the best teams in the world. Boys should come down with the same enthusiasm as before. We want to get the best result. But don’t forget they are one of the best teams in the world. We are enjoying this challenge,” said Pothas.

Bangladesh won their first Test in New Zealand last year in Mount Maunganui. Now, they are playing the second match on the same ground, and the coach is hopeful for a series win.

“As we won by 5 wickets. A 5 wicket win is a big win in T20. If these guys keep playing for the next 2-3 years they will show what they can do. Batting is more difficult than bowling. You only have one chance. In bowling, you can come back with a good ball after a bad ball. Only one chance in batting. This is why you need skills,” he added.

Bangladesh will face the BlackCaps in the second T20I on December 29.
