David Willey has been replaced by Sri Lankan all-rounder Thisara Parera,Willey- in the test series against India, got badly injured. Mahmudullah Riad comes in place of Caribbean captain Carlos Brathwaite. Braithwaite, for his personal commitments to his home side is staying out of PSL 2017 from Gladiators squad. England player Moeen Ali wants not to play this season. Rovam Powell has been ruled out from the team. Mohammad Nabi is also sitting out. Nathan McCullum and Rilee Rossouw are in as replacements.

Key Players

Kevin Pietersen, the all-time batsman, is the retained star player for Gladiators. His contribution in the PSL 2016 took Gladiators to the finals. Ahmed Shehzad played his best in the finals. Thisara Parera and Kiwi bowler Nathan McCllum will be the bowlers to be followed. Mohammad Nawaz took three wickets for Gladiators and proved to be the best bowler in the battle for the title. He is the rising star with higher fans expectancy this time. Gladiators will look forward to Umar Gul’s  bowling attack too.

Recent Form

Quetta Gladiators lost the 2016 title. They did win seven games in the entire contest to make it to the final game. Although they missed victory their overall game was the best and they were second in the points chart. Gladiators will fight like true warriors to claim the PSL title this time.

Last year, Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United played two matches with each other and both were won by the latter. The two teams met last time at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium where Islamabad emerged victorious in that match by five wickets.
