In an electrifying Asia Cup clash at Sri Lanka’s Pallekele on Saturday, Pakistan’s formidable pace trio – Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah – made history by taking all 10 Indian wickets. However, the excitement was cut short by rain during the second innings, forcing both arch-rivals to share points.

Relying on the collective brilliance of their pace bowlers, Pakistan successfully contained India to a total of 266 runs. This remarkable feat marked the first instance in Asia Cup history where all 10 wickets in an innings were claimed by pacers.

Shaheen Afridi, with his signature swagger and exceptional skills, struck early for Pakistan, dismissing the Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, and the cricketing icon, Virat Kohli, for just 11 and 4 runs respectively. Later in the Indian innings, Shaheen added two more scalps, accounting for Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja, concluding with a four-wicket haul. He conceded a mere 35 runs throughout his allotted 10 overs.

Haris Rauf initially struggled to find the right line and length but eventually settled into his groove as the match progressed. He clinched three wickets, conceding 58 runs in his nine overs.

Naseem Shah, known for his challenging pace, took three crucial wickets in the latter stages of the Indian innings. His performance continued his remarkable streak of consistently taking wickets in every ODI appearance for Pakistan since his debut in August 2022.
