According to Indian media reports, Sourav will leave after the annual general meeting of the board on October 18, although not moving of his own will. He wanted to remain as the board president for one more term. But he had to step down as he did not have the support of most of the board members.

Therefore, at the time of farewell, he expressed his anger like this, ‘No one stays in power all his life. Everyone has to take the test. One has to be rejected. Sourav was reportedly offered the IPL chairmanship, which he turned down.

At first, he did not open his mouth about this, but now he spoke. The former captain of the Indian team told the media on Thursday, “I had to face more challenges in my cricket career than in my administrative career. Maybe I can take on bigger challenges in the future. Just like you can’t play cricket all your life, you can’t be an administrator all your life. Having been both a cricketer and an administrator, I have seen both sides of the coin.”

Highlighting his success as BCCI president, Sourav said, “We have successfully organized IPL in difficult times like coronavirus. Indian women’s cricket team won silver at the Commonwealth Games. The Indian men’s team has had incredible success on foreign soil.
