Liton Das feels that the country’s cricketers play more franchise leagues abroad. This is the main reason why they became great.
In an interview given to the media, the opener of the national team said, “Every player in Afghanistan plays in a foreign franchise league. But they are not good in Tests or ODIs. Although they won against us in the Test, there is only one reason why they are doing so well in T20I – they play a lot of franchise leagues. How many of us go and play in Sri Lanka or Pakistan leagues? Afghanistan cricketers are playing with power in Dhaka. They play in Sri Lanka, they play in Pakistan. Cricketers from Sri Lanka and Pakistan also play here (BPL). But we cannot play in their league. As long as we can’t play in the outer leagues, we’ll stay that way. Shakib Bhai has come to this place today for 10 years playing in all leagues of the world. When Shakib Bhai first went out to play, there is a big difference between the mentality of that time and the mentality of now. You have to start somewhere. Any work becomes easy when it becomes regular.”

Liton also said, “There was a time when Zimbabwe had a very good team. Not now Bangladesh was not a good team before. It’s better now. Expectations have increased because they are doing well.”
