The record for the fastest to reach the 4000 runs milestone in IPL was held by Chris Gayle till now. Lucknow Super Giants’ Lokesh Rahul made it his name in the match against Punjab Kings on Saturday (April 15). Rahul was dismissed for 74 runs in a tense match against Punjab Kings. The 30-year-old batsman reached the 4000-run club in just 105 innings. Where Chris Gayle took 112 innings to reach this run. To set this precedent, Rahul has left batsmen like Virat Kohli and David Warner behind. It took 114 innings for David Warner to complete 4000 runs. On the other hand, Virat Kohli took 128 innings. AB de Villiers took 131 innings. Rahul batted at a strike rate of 132.14 in an inning of 56 balls. His innings had 8 fours and a six. As a result of which his number of runs in IPL is now 4044 runs, an average of 47.02, and a strike rate of 135.16. Besides scoring four centuries, he also scored 32 fifties. His highest score was 132 not out. Before Lucknow, Rahul played for three other franchises in the IPL. He last represented Punjab Kings. From there he joined the new team in Lucknow. Earlier, Rahul also played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
