Gambhir acknowledged the invaluable contribution of Ravindra Jadeja to the Indian cricket team. While he praised Jadeja’s exceptional bowling skills and his prowess in the field, Gambhir emphasized the necessity for him to make a more substantial impact with the bat.

“We know he (Jadeja) can bowl 10 overs on any given day on any surface. He is an amazing fielder, but he will have to contribute better as a batter at No. 7 because you cannot go in with just six batters.”

In light of potential uncertainties surrounding the No. 5 position, especially if Ishan Kishan occupies it, Gambhir stressed that Jadeja must step up with his batting skills to potentially secure victories in high-pressure situations.
