Chennai Super Kings clinched victory against the Gujarat Titans, the 2022 IPL champions, in an exhilarating last-ball thriller in Ahmedabad, which began on Monday and concluded past 1:30 am on Tuesday.
Following intense speculation about Dhoni’s potential retirement, he hinted at the possibility of playing “one more season” as a gift to his fans. Dhoni, India’s most successful Test captain, has enjoyed a decorated career, including two World Cup triumphs. While he retired from international duty in 2020, he continued to participate in the IPL, despite battling a troublesome knee and experiencing some underwhelming batting performances this season.
On Thursday, a source from Mumbai’s Kokilaben hospital confirmed to the Press Trust of India that Dhoni underwent a successful surgery and is likely to be discharged “within a day or two.” The report mentioned that Dhoni would rest for a few days before commencing an extensive rehabilitation program.
With sufficient time for recovery, it is expected that Dhoni will regain fitness in time to participate in the upcoming IPL season, according to the report.
