The Indian Board has always demanded more money because they contribute the most financially in the cricket world. From 2024 to 2027, ICC could earn almost 5,000 crore taka per year.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) will receive nearly 40% of the annual income of the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI)! From 2024 to 2027, the Indian board could receive almost 1895 crore taka per year. ICC has proposed such an amount, which is much more than last time. From 2016 to 2023, the Indian board received almost 3322 crore taka over eight years, or 416 crore taka per year. This time, BCCI could receive half of that amount in just one year. No other board will receive so much money. India will receive 38.5% of the income according to the proposed financial model of the board.
Nine years ago, the ICC declared India, England, and Australia as major powers among its full members and planned to divide the income accordingly. But in the end, it is seen that there is only one major power in the cricket world, and that is India. The proposed financial model was created considering the country’s cricket history, the performance of boys and girls in ICC competitions in the last 16 years, how much money the board gets from ICC, and whether they are a full member of the ICC.
