Top-order batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto spoke to the media at the airport after landing in the country. He said that compared to the results of the previous World Cup, Bangladesh has done better this time.

Nazmul said, “Bangladesh team played good cricket. I think, if we look at the previous World Cups, we have done well according to the results. The best part was, we won two matches, we played good cricket. We played well as a team. The ones we couldn’t win, we couldn’t win as a team.”

Bangladesh started this year’s World Cup with a win against the Netherlands. It was the Tigers’ first win in the second round of the World Cup. Later, Bangladesh also defeated Zimbabwe. But Bangladesh could not win against any big team. South Africa lost against India and Pakistan.
