Ace leg-spinner Rashid Khan experienced a worrisome injury moment during the ODI World Cup 2023 match between the Netherlands and Afghanistan at the BRSABVE Stadium in Lucknow.

In the midst of the fifth over, the 25-year-old cricketer was seen clutching the side of his lower back while leaving the field. Rashid, who was fielding at mid-off during Mujeeb Ur Rahman’s over, faced an uncomfortable moment when Netherlands batter Max O’Dowd defended the ball towards his left and initiated a quick single.

Reacting swiftly, Rashid sprinted to his left and attempted a throw at the non-striker’s end, after which he experienced discomfort in his lower back. Without delay, he made his way back into the pavilion, with coach Jonathan Trott following closely.

Thankfully, Rashid Khan returned to the field during the tenth over, charging in from the dugout. The reassuring comeback dispelled any significant concerns about his back problem, offering relief to the Afghanistan team and their supporters.
