The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is unable to accept the failure of England to reach the final of the recently concluded T20 World Cup.
Roger Binny’s board is discussing the matter.
The BCCI has sacked a five-member committee of Indian selectors for the World Cup. At the same time, a new selection committee has also been called.
Former India pacers Chetan Sharma, Sunil Josie, Harvinder Singh, and Devashish Mohanty were part of the committee.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a long release.
The BCCI wrote that five national selectors are being called for the men’s cricket team. Applications have been sought from former cricketers who have played at least seven Test matches or played 30 first-class matches, 10 ODIs, and 20 first-class matches for India as a qualification. Candidates who have retired at least five years ago can apply. No one who has spent five years on any cricket committee of the board can apply. Applications can be made till 6 pm on November 28.
