Former Indian national cricket team legend Sunil Gavaskar has given a suggestion for Mithali Raj and her team. He suggested enhancing his performance and experience before going to New Zealand next year to prepare for the World Cup.
Sunil Gavaskar and Mithali Raj were present at the virtual launch of the book “1971: The Beginning of India’s Cricketing Greatness”. He said Mithali’s team should learn from men’s team captain Virat Kohli and his sons how to fight opponents.
Gavaskar recalled Heather Knight’s nine-run loss in the final against England at the Lord’s Cricket Stadium. Gavaskar said Michalis should take hints from Virat Kohli’s aggressive intentions and deal with the opposition rather than looking back.
Mithali Raj hints at her international retirement Recently, she announced that she will retire from cricket after the 2022 World Cup in New Zealand. Mithali(38) hinted at her international retirement and said the 2022 World Cup will be her swansong after 21 years in international cricket.
She also spoke about the importance of fitness, especially at a time when the women’s team is not getting many matches to play. “Last year is equivalent to 20 years of my international cricket,” Mithali said.
“I know we’re in a tough time, we have a lot of fitness to do. I’m not getting younger day by day but getting older. I know the importance of fitness.
“Good humanity is very much needed,” he added. I am very excited to know that there will be very few visits before the next World Cup. “
