Wriddhiman Saha will replace Parthiv Patel as a wicketkepper batsman in this test match. Saha was rested as he had a thigh injury in Visakhapatnam during the second test with England. He is returning after missing the remaining three matches of the 2016 India-England test series.

The leathal spin combination of Ravinchandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja will be most feared by Bangladesh batting order.
