At the very last match of the first round of the BPL 2016, Dhaka Dynamites will face Khulna Titans. At their last encounter, Titans had beaten Dhaka at their previous encounter of this season. But tables have turned since then as Dhaka have already qualified and secured the table top position while Titans are in fear of elimination.

Dhaka Dynamites can approach this match in any number of ways. They have already qualified for the play offs. They have secured the top spot of the points table. Even losing this match won’t affect their spot in the points table in any way. So they might want to rest some of their top players. There have been some injury problems as Andre Russel was seen struggling with a niggle at last match. Even if Dhaka want to rest their top performers, their back up unit have also been a joy to watch. Abu Jayed Rahi, Alauddin Babu, Beaton – all have shined brightly in absence of the star performers. Dhaka surely would never want to tarnish their reputation as a big team and seek to take revenge on the Titans.

Titans are in risk of elimination. This is a must win match for them. A win in this match means they will go through to the play offs. Though the Titans bowling unit, comprised of Mosharrof Rubel, Shafiul Islam, Junaid Khan have done exceptionally well in most matches. But their batting has been generally awful. Apart from captain Mahmudullah, every other Titans batsmen are in bad need of a consistent form. They have won many a nerve racking battles in this season, this last battle is already nerve racking before it began. Maybe Captain cool Mahmudullah will pull out another magic trick from his bag and fly to the next round.
