Uganda won a spot in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup after defeating Rwanda by nine wickets in the Africa Region Qualifier.
This is Uganda’s first time participating in an ICC World Cup.. Rwanda scored only 65 runs in 18.5 overs, with Eric Dusingizimana contributing 19 runs. Uganda easily chased the target, with opener Simon Ssesazi scoring 26 off 21 balls. With this victory, Uganda and Namibia qualified, while Zimbabwe missed out on another T20 World Cup, despite posting a strong score against Kenya. Zimbabwe has struggled in World Cup qualifiers, failing to qualify for the 2019 and 2023 events.
